The desk uses one set of controls

I picked a type, searched my shelf, and signed in. Every button and field sat on the same quiet kit.

Desk
  • Home type chips and search match the rest of the desk — same hits, same press.
  • Community filters and empty states use the same chips and quiet copy.
  • Sign-in and billing fields match the dialog kit. No tall marketing inputs on the desk.
  • Errors and delete stay one family of notices and overlay buttons.

    The page got quiet

    I opened the book. Rails stayed out of the way until I needed them. Format sat on the paper. I asked CoAuthor for a diagram and kept writing.

    • Pins are icons. Collapse lives on the rail, not the account cluster.
    • Format and insert sit on the paper — one row, not a parade of labels.
    • Highlight a line and ask CoAuthor to write it aligned, illustrated, or as a diagram.

    Google Docs share is one blob of access. Typewriter gives each person a seat: coauthor, editor, beta reader, or publisher.

    • Four seats: coauthor writes live, editor suggests (you accept), beta highlights, publisher reads.
    • Beta matching opens a thread when it clicks, so notes don’t die in email.

    You used to re-explain the cast every turn. Now CoAuthor keeps the bible, the map, and the chapter you are in — and works from there.
