Typewriter is book writing software for authors. Two public doors, one account:

1. **Desk** — manuscript home: binder, story bible, relationship map, languages. Optional CoAuthor AI proposes changes you accept or reject. Optional hardware (Keyboard $299, Go $399, Typewriter $499) drafts into the same book. You can write and export without AI and without a device.
2. **Instant Ebook** — AI book generator. Instant Ebook is Typewriter’s AI book generator. Type one idea, pick a format, preview the book without an account, then sign up to download EPUB, PDF, and DOCX. A typical book costs about $4.50 in CoAuthor credits. $5 on signup. **Desk is for:** people writing real books — novels, memoir, long-form nonfiction, series.

## On the desk

- **Write** (Free): Chapters, scenes, a word goal. The long book has a place to live — so more of the year is writing, not hunting files.
- **Bible** (Typewriter): Places, rules, and open loops sit beside the page. You don't rebuild the world every sitting.
- **Characters** (Typewriter): Who they are, what they carry, what they will not do. Still true when you come back in six months.
- **Map** (Typewriter): Who is tied to whom — as a graph, not a spreadsheet. The series still owes the ring.

### Can I invite a reader?

Yes. Send a link. They comment on the chapter. They do not need a paid plan to join. Reader seats are on Typewriter.

### When do I get a cover, audio, or a print file?

When the draft earns it. Cover, audiobook, and Press sit on the same manuscript as extras — not a second product you have to move the book into.

### Do I need the hardware?

No. The software is the product. Write in the browser today.

### How is this different from Scrivener?
